Introduction To Forums
Forums are a great way of sharing information or having a discussion. A forum can have one or many discussion threads. Others joining the conversation late can see what has been said before and quickly get up to speed and join in. Forums are good ways for your students to communicate and when collaborating on a project. Forums have a hierarchical structure. At the top is the actual forum and you can have several categories inside a forum allowing for a more on topic discussion. The lowest level of the forum is called threads and these contain the users posts. This is represented in the Forum app as Forums, categories, threads. When adding a new thread to a forum and you feel it is important you can force it to stay at the top of the forum category rather than be added to the bottom of the conversation. This is called sticking or sticky posting. |
